The Word Is Out~Moms Are Impressed: Disney On Ice: Dare to Dream

New Tampa Macaroni Kid's Mom Ambassador Kristen Weaver's Review

By Vi Keenan/Kristen Weaver March 23, 2019

Last night was a Magical night for many children and adults. I experienced my first Disney On Ice performance about 4 years ago. I was giddy like a 5-year-old girl that had just been crowned a princess. At the time I was 41 shhhh...

Our cover photo really shows the AWE children are in when watching their favorite characters come to life. I was thrilled to see this picture pop up on our Facebook page from Tara Gardtner, our winner for the family giveaway to Disney On Ice: Dare To Dream. These two are precious! Tara said her and her family had a great time.

Last night I was unable to attend the event and Mom Ambassador Kristen Weaver brought her family to dish out the scoop for us! Her kids were delighted. How cute are they!

I loved when Kristen sent her initial email of excitement after the show: "It was great! I felt that it kept my kids engaged and excited the whole time! The kids enjoyed the audience participation and I really liked the fact that they didn’t have to sit quietly the entire time. It truly is a show for ALL AGES. I was also impressed that they included everyday life lessons in the show dynamic so the kids not only enjoyed themselves but took away a positive message. They gushed about it the whole night afterward. I would definitely go again."

Of course, I knew the reaction to Disney On Ice: Dare to Dream would be glowing...wink...wink.

My personal favorites have always been Beauty and the Beast and I couldn't help but fall in love with Olaf from Frozen. I did see both at the last show so I knew this was going to be a favorite for those who went. This year the interaction was much greater than previous shows and was received very well by parents and kids. The direction Disney On Ice is going with interactive shows is phenomenal and will bring Magical Memories to last a lifetime.

Dare to Dream is at Amalie Arena, which is about a 40-minute drive from Wesley Chapel/Zephyrhills. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to drive up there (there is a lot of construction around the area), park (cost us $10 - credit card only), walk in, get your tickets, go potty and find your seats because the show started exactly at 7 PM.

The show begins with an upbeat number that gets everyone up and moving and ready for the show.  Then out skates Gaston and the rest of the characters from our first story - Beauty and the Beast.  The "Be Our Guest" song was so fun to watch and sing along with!  ~ Denise Granata ~Macaroni Kid Bradenton Publisher

Kristen and her children were impressed with how many characters were present for the show giving all fans young and young at heart a chance to see their favorites.

"The first part of the show was more focused on the older Disney Princesses ( Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and many more).

The second half (after a brief 15 Min intermission) was focused on the more recent Disney hits! ( Moana, Tangled, Frozen).

The special effects included fireworks, pyrotechnics, and some pretty impressive lighting and digital animation." ~Kristen Weaver

The Highly Anticipated Debut of Moana was as amazing as expected. Check it out!
