Dinnerly~ Dinner Made Quick and Easy~No Shopping Required!

By Vi Keenan~ Publisher of New Tampa-Wesley Chapel Macaroni Kid August 6, 2019

Dinner is always a big rush around here even though my kids are now adult children. When I was offered the chance to try out Dinnerly, I was excited to find out how it all worked.

I was amazed at how simple and easy it was. I simply logged on to the Dinnerly website and picked which meals I wanted to try. Clear ingredients and how long it would take to prepare were all listed, leaving the guesswork out of it. It even listed items that I would need from my kitchen which were minimal...items like vinegar. It is great to know in case you are out of an item or you can always substitute, as I did with our salad, since hubby likes ranch dressing.

An easy and healthy alternative way to cook is a must-have in our house considering we are trying to get away from the recent fast food and pizza deliveries.

I have cooked almost every night for the past 21 years and quite frankly...I am tired and bored with trying to figure out our next meal. Know the feeling? (Hence, the recent fast food and pizza deliveries)

Sure...they are adults but they are young adults and they still need to eat. Especially my 18-year-old son (the human hungry hippo and yet he is skinny!) I am so jealous.

My daughter lives next door and is having her first child, making me a first time (YOUNG) Grandmother. Ahem... at 45 years young, I am very excited for her baby girl to arrive! My daughter and I have made some meals over the years but with a new baby on the way she is in need of some quick, easy and healthy meals to cook for her new family. Ordering Dinnerly and preparing the meals became a mother and daughter event at our house. We were both very impressed with the time efficiency of Dinnerly.

I was also thrilled not to be the one doing all the cooking, although, this was so simple I could have easily prepared it myself. I loved this experience with my daughter and that she will now be a mom with healthy and delicious meals to put on her dinner table.

Our first night we made the Summerly Tortelloni Salad. The meal was done in less than 20 minutes even though it included chopping squash and garlic. My husband is not a salad type of guy but he loved the heartiness in this meal. We were all full and satisfied. Father, Mother, Daughter, and Baby approved!

Dinnerly is an affordable option considering the no-waste food content. They send perfect sizes for the meals you choose. There are no worries that you will have leftover veggies growing old in the crisper drawer. I was concerned with the heat in Florida that the food box would not be fresh. They proved me wrong! The box showed up with plenty of packing and reusable HUGE ice packs. Everything in the box was cold and fresh.

The recipe instructions showed up in my email and I was able to use my phone or computer while cooking. I liked this option to help keep clutter out of my home. I lose recipes all the time. Please tell me I am not the only one. The recipes are printable which I did print one of them to help with our photoshoot.

Those of you who are amazing and organized, unlike me, can easily print the recipes out and add it to a recipe book. If you do so...feel free to make me one too.

I have to totally brag about our extremely easy and pretty lazy night that saved us from having to order pizza. I do actually crave pizza on a regular basis. After all, according to my son, pizza is life!

I ordered the Cheesy Ciabatta Melts as one of our meals. This came with an Amazing Red Pepper Pesto. This is a must-try! It saved me from pizza delivery and still satisfied that crave and then some.

Overall, I felt that Dinnerly is a major helper in the kitchen. When you try it out... get your kiddos involved. It is such an easy way to help them with their reading skills, following simple instructions, they learn to prep and cook, and of course, bond with you... not too mention they do some of the work which is a huge plus (wink wink). Seriously, Dinnerly can definitely help with the stressful nights of grabbing meat out and trying to figure out what you will do with it at 7:00 pm when you give up and order that pizza. I would love to see your family cooking nights. Feel free to add them to our visitor posts on Facebook and don't forget to tell me your favorite meals that you try.

Happy Cooking!
